Technologically advanced Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery in very poor heart function of less than 20%.

Mr. S. C. is 66 year old Diabetic patient & has been suffering from heart disease since last 10 years. He suffered three Heart Attacks resulting in progressive deterioration of his heart function from 55% to less than 20%. He also suffered from repeated episodes of heart failures. Coronary Angiography was done in 2015 & Angioplasty of Right Coronary Artery was done. at that time also his coronary arteries had Multiple blocks in left system. Recent repeat coronary Angiography showed 100% blockage od Right Coronary artery with stent occlusion, 100% blockage of circumflex artery & diffuse critical blockage in left artery descending artery. His heart had enlarged due to poor heart muscle function. Echo showed that heart function had deteriorated to less than 20%. His PET – CT Scan of heart showed viable heart muscle in most part of the heart despite having many heart attacks. Patient was admitted in heart failure in hospital. After aggressing heart failure control treatment patient was taken up for coronary bypass surgery by Dr. Pavan Kumar – Consultant Heart Surgeon at Lilavati Hospital. He underwent five vessel coronary bypass surgery utilising Intra Aortic balloon pump support during operation for hemodynamic stability while surgical procedure & immediate post operative period.
